You have come to the end of the 7 Day SPICE It Up Marriage Challenge!
I hope you have enjoyed these last 7 days of challenges and I hope it has helped you to reconnect with your spouse.
Valentine’s Day is a well marketed holiday. You see it in all the stores, the red and pink hearts are everywhere.
You can’t escape the push from marketing companies to buy this or that to show your love.
Flower prices increase, jewelry or chocolate seems to be the things that MUST be bought to show our deepest appreciation for our loved ones.
Is that truth?
I am not saying those things are bad. They are wonderful and who doesn’t enjoy a bouquet of flowers.
But, today, I want to challenge you to do a bit more to show your love to your spouse today.
Today, in addition to any present you were planning on buying your spouse, I want you to give a bouquet of love notes.
What is a bouquet of love notes?
2 years ago in addition to my husband’s birthday present, I surprised him with a bouquet of the 40 reasons why I loved him. I cut out hearts and pasted them to popsicle sticks and placed them in a vase.
This may sound cheesy to you, but he still has it placed in our bedroom and tells me he looks at it often. He very much appreciated my small gesture of love.
As I have said before, who doesn’t like to be appreciated and loved?
I know I appreciate notes of appreciation and love that my husband has given to me.
What do you most love about your spouse? What do you appreciate about your spouse?
Tell them today with a bouquet of 12 things you love most about your spouse.
You can cut out hearts or just put together 12 notes in a box or envelope and give it to them. If you have more than 12, then include more!
Need some inspiration?
- You challenging me to be a better person.
- Your generosity with others.
- Your amazing love for our children.
These are just a few things to help get you started. Here is a printable worksheet with hearts to cut out and write on for your love note bouquet.
Candy, jewelry, flowers, etc. are great gifts but taking the time to write down what you love and appreciate about your spouse takes time and effort. This time and effort can pay out dividends.
Tell your spouse how much you appreciate them this Valentine’s Day! Get to work!
