Have you been told there is not much that can be done for your infertility?
Do you wonder if charting your fertility will make any difference with your infertility?
This is a testimony about how charting your fertility can help treat reproductive health issues.
It is amazing what a woman’s fertility chart can help uncover.
For her entire life Felicia has suffered with gynecological and infertility issues, including a lack of menses.
She hopes that sharing her story of struggle with infertility and the hope and success she discovered through NaProTechnology will serve to help other women and couples.
My continuous lack of menses along with other health issues, had become a way of life for me. It was always of major concern to me, but was never seriously addressed by what I call the “mainstream” gynecological establishment.
I had been to five gynecologists within ten years in various states to address my problems. Rather than take the time to understand my condition, every single gynecologist applied the same ineffective and harmful Band-Aid: birth control pills. The Pill is the modern gynecological cure-all, but in reality, it is a superficial fix-it, and a moral atrocity.
I can’t express how hurt and betrayed I feel by these doctors who were “advocates of women’s health”. They did nothing to promote my gynecological health. They passed me off, gave me pills and told me I was just infertile and likely atypical, polycystic.
It wasn’t until I found a gynecologist that promoted Fertility Awareness that my problems were carefully assessed. Finally I had a doctor who could help me understand my body and support my pro-life Catholic values. I had someone teach me how to chart my cycle and look for signs of fertility.
Soon after I discovered that I rarely ovulated. Over ten years of gynecological visits, the doctors had never bothered to check. Unfortunately, we moved to an area where there were no doctors who promoted Fertility Awareness. So painfully my husband and I suffered for 5 years until we had our first child. A true miracle!
Two years later we moved to another state and were lucky enough to find a Catholic gynecologist that was trained in the Creighton Model System and NaProTechnology. In reviewing my charts he found evidence suggesting a large cyst. A laparoscopy later found that the cyst had taken over my entire right ovary and part of my fallopian tube. Both were removed and this surgery saved my life from a likely ovarian rupture and hemorrhage.
I recovered but was still struggling with infertility. My gynecologist told me that I would be a candidate for Napro surgery. A micro-drilling on the outside membrane of my remaining ovary would promote the release of an egg and allow for the chance to become pregnant.
Wary and frustrated, I took a break to recover from the years of inauthentic care provided by mainstream gynecological practices. I was apprehensive of surgery and choose to pursue another beautiful option, adoption.
I continued to chart while experiencing painful monthly cystic ruptures. Again my Creighton gynecologist reminded me that Napro surgery would not only help the polycystic problem but correct and allow for regular ovulation.
Prayerfully I considered and decided to undergo the procedure in May of 2010. In November of that year I discovered that I was pregnant.
Praise be to God for those Fertility Awareness doctors and especially the Creighton Model System that helped me achieve a pregnancy after four years of trying. I am now am blessed with two children.
I can’t say enough about the beauty and true science behind Creighton. There is a true freedom in practicing the Creighton Model System.
I don’t have to compromise my beliefs, be slave to a pill, or pay through the nose for IVF that has very poor results and morally reprehensible methods.
I am living proof that the Creighton Model System can not only save your life but aid in the co-creation of life. It is a secret that should not be kept. Consider Creighton, it will change your life!
Thank you to Felicia for sharing her testimony of the benefits that charting your fertility can have with treating infertility!
